New Year Resolutions?

My Musings, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful start to the year!

With the new year also comes new years resolutions for so many of us. Now while I love the idea of new year resolutions, improving ourselves and doing things we’ve always wanted to try, I also think there not the most proactive. What I mean to say is, when we come up with these new years resolutions at the end of the year, we spend so much time thinking about what our ultimate goal for the year will be and so little time if any on planning the little steps needed to help us reach this goal.

This is probably the number one reason why so many of us fail with our resolutions. We haven’t prepared or planned the most important part.

What I wanted to share with you today is my favorite way of planning those little steps. It’s called monthly habits. I got the idea from a video I watched a couple years ago by Alex Ikonn, I’ll actually link it here so you can watch it. In the video he talks about how at the start of every month he tries to implement one good habit into his life. The habits can be anything, they could be not checking social media after 10 o’clock, waking up at 6am every morning or dedicating 20 minutes to reading every day, the choices are endless.

Now you can choose either to do random different good habits for the year like the ones I just mentioned or you can make them more specific to your goal for the year. To show what I mean I made a little planner/schedule of the year with the habits of that month next to it. For the example I used Learning Photography as the new years resolution..

As you can see every month I’ve added a habit or challenge that will help me learn photography and really better myself at it. You’ll be making this same exact planner/schedule except instead of “learn photography” you’ll add your goal and then make the habits or challenges specific to that.

Just grab a book or a piece of paper, write it all down and then stick it somewhere you know you’ll see it everyday. It’s as easy as that!

The next step is putting in the hard work, patience and time into accomplishing these little steps. Give it all you’ve got and don’t be to hard on yourself if you make a mistake or don’t reach your goal for the day, there is always tomorrow!

I hope this helps you reach your goals. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read this! I love you all and I’ll talk to you next Monday!

Top 5 Christmas Decoration D.I.Y’s from Lia Griffith

Untitled design(26)

Hello my wonderful readers,

How are you all doing! For today I wanted to share with you my top 5 favorite Christmas decoration d.i.y’s from Lia Griffith. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and there’s nothing I love more then spending hours on hours searching for fun new ways to decorate my house. So you can imagine my excitement when I found this site as I was going through my Pinterest posts. Just one look at those adorable little owls and I was hooked. I went to the site to find out how they were made and after spending a good 20 minutes browsing around I was so happy to find even more fun d.i.y’s to do.

One of the things I really loved about the site is that the projects were so diverse and a lot of them I haven’t seen anywhere else before. It was really refreshing to see since d.i.y projects can over time start to get repetitive and boring.

So without further ado… here is my top 5 list!

Foam and Crepe Paper Owl

How precious does this owl look!! It would be such a great bonus gift to give to your family and friends.

Floristic Crepe Paper Poinsettias

These flowers would make such great center pieces or you could even place them on top of gifts instead of bows. There are so many different ways you can get creative with them.

Felt Ball Christmas Pillows

I was so excited to find this Christmas pillow d.i.y on the site. Not only are they super cute but they’re also simple to make and really inexpensive as well.

Glitter Paper Candle Wreaths

Such a pretty touch to add around candles. Gives them a more festive vibe!

Paper Evergreen Holiday Wreath

Christmas decorations wouldn’t be complete without at least one wreath to tie it all together. This one here is my favorite from the site because it has that classic feel to it and I really love the attention to detail of the leaves and cranberry’s.

That is it, those are my Top 5 Favorite Christmas Decoration D.I.Y’s. You should definitely check out the site. There are heaps of other decoration ideas for you to choose from and they’re not all limited to the Christmas theme.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. I really appreciate it and I really hope you got some inspiration and ideas from it! Have a wonderful week everyone, I’ll talk to you all on Monday!

Get Lost In The Wonders Of The World!

travel, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

So I find myself quite frequently getting a craving for travel. When I get the travel bug all I seem to do all day is daydream about the beaches in Greece or the magnificent sights in Italy or Spain. Now unfortunately since I can’t just hop on a plane and fly to some beautiful destination every time I want to travel I’ve found the next best thing is watching travel videos on YouTube.

There is nothing I love more then getting curled up on the coach and watching travel vlogs. I find it’s the perfect travel fix without the huge airplane fee.

I’d also like to add that I never watch more then one or two videos at a time. As much as I like watching the videos if I ever want to visit and experience the places myself I’m gonna have to go and hustle!

It’s good to daydream about places or things you want just make sure your putting in the hardwork daily to make them a reality!

Mimi & Alex’s Travel Videos

I’m always so excited when I see Mimi & Alex have uploaded a new travel vlog. With every vlog they put up I am in awe with the magical places they travel to. I love how they capture the places beauty, culture and people so beautifully. It’s always a joy to watch!

Mix the beautiful views + amazing music + perfect editing and you’ve got one of their travel vlogs!

  Rick Steves’ Europe

Now Rick Steves’ is someone I like to think of as the David Attenborugh of travel. His voice is perfect. It’s so soothing and pleasant to listen to. He could read out a phone book for an hour and I would sit through the whole thing.

What I also love is how he teaches the history of the places through his videos. This way your learning whilst your enjoying the beautiful scenery. For a huge geek like me this is a huge Win – Win!

  Hey Nadine

A lot of you may already know about Nadine since she is a pretty well known travel vlogger on YouTube but in case you didn’t I thought I would mention her. I first started watching Nadine’s videos around 2 years ago, she was actually the first travel vlogger I watched. I absolutely adore the way she films her videos, she captures the beauty of the places she visits perfectly. She also has an amazing personality, she’s so funny and entertaining to watch.

Those three are my favorites to watch! Let me know in the comments what you like watching or reading when you get the travel bug. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading, I’ll see you all in my next post!
