Blue The New Black!?!

accesorries, bags, clothes, fashion, outfit of the day, shoes, style inspirtation

cashmere meets khakisHello my beautiful readers,

How are you all this lovely day? So ever since I stopped buying things in the color black  I have noticed myself gravitating more and more towards the color blue. Over time it seems like blue has become my new black.

For all those of you wondering why I don’t buy things in the color black anymore is because I’m trying to add more fun bright colors to my wardrobe. For years now my wardrobe has consisted of more greys, blacks and whites then any other color. After seeing Ann Le’s Greece Clothing Haul I wanted to just redo my entire wardrobe and bring more fun colors into it. It’s been a slow process let me tell you that but I’m happy with how its progressing so far.

I’ve complied a list of a few of my favorite blue colored pieces I wanted to share with you. So let’s get into it….

                                                        Sequin Blue Clutch

cashmere meets khakis This clutch is personally one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. My mum gave me this clutch as a gift a few years ago but I actually didn’t start wearing it until about a month or two ago. I was always afraid I would ruin it so I kept storing it thinking I’ll wear it someday for a special occasion or event. After having it sit around for so long I just thought to hell with waiting for someday now is a better time then ever to wear it.

Do you guys have anything you have laying around that’s waiting for someday to be worn?

                                                    Baby Blue Ballet Flats

cashmere meets khakisThese ballet flats I think I’ve already featured in a post or two but none the less here they are again. Apart from heels and slippers I spend around 95% of the time in a pair of ballet flats. Now I’m usually one who loves to be bare foot all the time but since that’s not very practical for day to day life I have found that ballet flats are the next best thing. They are so light and comfortable it’s like you have nothing on at all plus I love how I can take of my shoes anytime so easily when I’m sitting and wiggle my toes around. Anyone else like to do that, no just me.

                                                         Navy Blue “Kitten” Heels

cashmere meets khakisYes I do know that these don’t technically classify as actual kitten heels but by my heel height standards they are. I’m really short {5’1} so when I look for heels I like them to be high enough to make me look at least 3 or 4 inches taller then I actually am. I was pretty surprised how much I loved these heels when I tried them on. They looked so sophisticated. I love that they have a way of making any outfit look more put together and elegant.

                                                          Flower Power Shirt

cashmere meets khakisThis shirt is a bit of an oldie. My mum bought this shirt around 2001-2002 I believe so it’s lasted quite a while. When I first saw this top I immediately thought this had Lorelai Gilmore written all over it. Me being the huge Gilmore Girl fan that I am I was pretty stoked to find a piece of clothing that looked like it could have come straight out of the wardrobe of the lovely Lorelai Gilmore. Ahhh a girl can dream for a wardrobe like hers!

                                                            Navy Blue Sweater

cashmere meets khakisThis sweater is another oldie. I got this at a small boutique when I was in Serbia. It’s a really light, soft cotton material with 3/4 length sleeves. My favorite thing about this sweater has to be the scrunchy detailing around the collar and on the ends of the sleeves. It’s such a big wow factor for what would have been otherwise another plain sweater.

                                                  Aqua Blue Summer Dress

cashmere meets khakisNow this dress is perfect in every way for summers here in Australia. Its made from such a great lightweight, breathable fabric that allows for those nice cool breezes to get through and actually reach your body unlike other dresses which shall not be named. Also look at that color if that’s not a reason to buy the dress I don’t know what is.

Deep Blue Maxi Dress

cashmere meets khakis Now with this dress I have a sort of love- hate thing going with it. On one hand I love how the material feels, the beautiful blue color to it and how it can make me look a lot taller then I am but then on the other hand I hate how I always have to wear heels when I wear it and even then I have to be careful not to step on it and also the top part has days were it looks super cute and others were it looks horrible and unflattering.

Even though this dress is a pain sometimes, It still has its moments.

That’s all of the pieces I have to share with you. Let me know in the comments below what your staple wardrobe color is I’d love to know. 🙂 Don’t forget to like and follow for more fashion and beauty posts. I’ll talk to you all in my next post -Mirjana

Cockatoos, Tree Trunk & Outfit Of The Day

clothes, fashion, outfit of the day

blop post wildernessHello my beautiful readers,

How are you all this beautiful day? The weather were I live has been so sunny and warm these past few days, which has been rare this month, so my family and I decided to go spend the day at our favorite park. It was really fun we spend the day playing tennis, watching the wildlife and walking through the various trails in the park. Early into the walk we came across a tree full of cockatoos all who were all more talkative then the next one. I did film some of them which I’ll link down below…

I planned on taking photos there for an outfit of the day but unfortunately they all came out blurry. The picture up top is the only one that came out looking half decent of the bunch. I’ve also added each individual item down below and listed were I got it from.

This jumper I bought at Rockmans around the start of autumn this year. It originally had some white blouse fabric hanging at the bottom to create a layered look to it. Even though I love that style it was just too long and made me look like I was a kid who raided her mother’s closet so it had to come of. I’m really happy with the way it turned out it has the perfect length to it now.

pantsAh my Capris! I first feel in love with these pants after watching Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina. I just loved how elegant and beautiful the pants looked on her. After searching through a few stores for pants similar to them I came up empty handed until I saw this pair in Temt. They are made from a really soft material, {I want to say cotton but I’m not sure I don’t have the tag}, you can be in them all day and you won’t feel uncomfortable, the waist is tighter then all the other parts of the pants so they fit around your waist really nice and tight. Another thing I loved about these pants is that I didn’t have to cut them shorter since they were the perfect length! I’m 5’1 so this is a pretty rare occurrence.

shiesI bought these Peter Morrissey flats last year. I love how they look really classic yet are still so comfortable to wear. I just wish they had made more then 1 color of them.

jewelleryFor my jewellery I kept it really minimal. I just wore my cross necklace and a bracelet I found in my bag that day.

Those are all of the outfit details, I hope you liked today’s post. Leave me a comment down below telling me what you did this weekend. I’ll talk to you all on Friday.
