Natalie Portman Dior 2013 Inspired Daytime Look

Beauty, Uncategorized

This has probably been one of my favorite videos to film so far. And not only because I got to recreate one of my favorite actresses campaigns but also because I got to do this as a collab with a fellow Youtuber, the very talented Jasmina Bharwani.

So the way we did the collab is I recreated Natalie Portman’s Dior campaign from 2013, while she recreated her campaign from 2016.

As you can see from the top photos her 2013 Dior campaign was very feminine and girly whilst her 2016 one was more sexy and sophisticated.

I ended up creating a daytime look inspired by her 2013 campaign while Jasmina created an evening look inspired by her 2016 campaign. Both videos I’ll add somewhere on here so you can check them out!

I love the way both videos turned out and I hope you love them just as much!!!

– Everything I used in my video I’ll have listed below –

Make sure to check out Jasmina’s video too! She did a phenomenal job recreating Natalie’s makeup look from her Dior 2016 campaign!

New Year Resolutions?

My Musings, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful start to the year!

With the new year also comes new years resolutions for so many of us. Now while I love the idea of new year resolutions, improving ourselves and doing things we’ve always wanted to try, I also think there not the most proactive. What I mean to say is, when we come up with these new years resolutions at the end of the year, we spend so much time thinking about what our ultimate goal for the year will be and so little time if any on planning the little steps needed to help us reach this goal.

This is probably the number one reason why so many of us fail with our resolutions. We haven’t prepared or planned the most important part.

What I wanted to share with you today is my favorite way of planning those little steps. It’s called monthly habits. I got the idea from a video I watched a couple years ago by Alex Ikonn, I’ll actually link it here so you can watch it. In the video he talks about how at the start of every month he tries to implement one good habit into his life. The habits can be anything, they could be not checking social media after 10 o’clock, waking up at 6am every morning or dedicating 20 minutes to reading every day, the choices are endless.

Now you can choose either to do random different good habits for the year like the ones I just mentioned or you can make them more specific to your goal for the year. To show what I mean I made a little planner/schedule of the year with the habits of that month next to it. For the example I used Learning Photography as the new years resolution..

As you can see every month I’ve added a habit or challenge that will help me learn photography and really better myself at it. You’ll be making this same exact planner/schedule except instead of “learn photography” you’ll add your goal and then make the habits or challenges specific to that.

Just grab a book or a piece of paper, write it all down and then stick it somewhere you know you’ll see it everyday. It’s as easy as that!

The next step is putting in the hard work, patience and time into accomplishing these little steps. Give it all you’ve got and don’t be to hard on yourself if you make a mistake or don’t reach your goal for the day, there is always tomorrow!

I hope this helps you reach your goals. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read this! I love you all and I’ll talk to you next Monday!

Rosehip by Essano: Treat Your Skin Pack Review

skincare, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

I hope you all had a great weekend! In today’s post I wanted to talk a bit about the Rosehip by Essano: Treat Your Skin Pack.

I bought this pack around a week ago and have been testing it out ever since. Before I bought this pack I did already use a few Essano products, their moisturizer, Rosehip oil and shampoo, and I had such a great experience using them. When I saw this pack in store I noticed a few products that I had never tried before and since it was on sale I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out.

In the pack you get 5 products to try….

  • The Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser
  • The Regenerating Facial Moisturizer
  • The Intensive Hydrating Body Lotion
  • The Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
  • The Moisture Restorative Night Creme

I filmed a whole video talking about each product individually and my thoughts on them. I’ll add the video below so you can go and check it out yourself!

I hope you enjoy watching it and find it in any way helpful! Let me know what your thoughts are on Essano products – what has your experience been with them!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read and watch this, I am beyond grateful! I’ll talk to you all next week 😄😄

How To: Fishtail 3 Take Hairstyle

hair, hairstyles, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

For today I wanted to share with you all a hair tutorial I recently filmed. I was going through Pinterest and got really inspired by this photo.

I LOVED the way her hair looked and I knew straight away I wanted to try to replicate it myself. I think my version turned out pretty good, I couldn’t make my braids as messy as I would have loved for them to be,since I have a lot of layers, but all in all I still love the way it turned out. It’s a gorgeous hairstyle that is perfect for any occasion.

For the hairstyle itself I only needed my hair brush, two elastic bands and a few bobby pins.

Let me know if you end up giving this hairstyle a go! I’ll talk to you all in my next post 🙂

Where I’ve Been + New Video!

fashion, hair, hairstyles, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

Long time no see! I’m so sorry for the lack of blog posts these past two weeks.Things have just been really hectic and it seemed like every time I sat down to write I was either way to tired to put a sentence together or I had major writers block.

These past few days me and my mum have been busy painting and de-cluttering our spare room and it’s been taking us a lot more time to do then we originally thought. Who knew we had piled up so much junk and useless clutter over the years.

We finally finished painting yesterday and we’ve already thrown out a good majority of the junk in there so all that’s left for us to do is organize everything and touch up any spots we missed. We’re going to be doing all that tomorrow and I’m thinking we should be able to finish all that in a few hours so I will have more then enough time to write a new blog post for you to go up tomorrow as well. I have some ideas on what I want to write about but I still haven’t chosen a definite one. That will be a little surprise for tomorrow 🙂

That’s pretty much it on what I’ve been up to. So to finish of this post I thought I would share with you my newest Youtube video which I did on my hair curling routine. I hope you all like it and I’ll talk to you all tomorrow!

Taking cue from Lauren Conrad

Hello my beautiful readers,

Today I wanted to share with you my go -to hairstyle for days when I have a big work day ahead of me. My favorite way to wear my hair is down with either curls or loose waves but it always gets so annoying when I’m trying to do some work and my hair decides it wants to stick to my face like a moth to a flame. What would happen was I’d wear it down until I got so annoyed that I just ended up placing it up into a very very messy ponytail or bun. Not the cutest look since it’s not the spend hours styling “perfect” messy hair.

It wasn’t until a few days ago when I was re-watching an episode of The Hills that I found the perfect solution. I noticed the way Lauren would braid the front section of her hair, pin it in place then just leave the rest of her hair down with her flawless curls. Why hadn’t I thought of this before? This was the perfect hairstyle for busy days.

First it’s simple to recreate, it looks pretty, takes very little time to do and your hairs out of your face whilst still being down. It’s Win! Win! Win!

Let me know what’s your favorite hairstyle to do when you have a big work day ahead of you!

Rainy Day Hairstyle

autumn hair, hair, hair tutorials, hairdos, hairstyles

cashmere meets khakisHello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing this fine day? For today’s post I was originally going to be doing a Spring lookbook but unfortunately the weather decided to segue back into winter. Since it would have looked pretty silly for me to be taking photos in sundresses in the pouring rain {plus I would have frozen the first five minutes out there} I decided to instead share with you one of my favorite ways to style my hair during a rainy day.

When the colder days come around my hair gets into a mix of dry and frizzy. Not really the best combination. So on days like these I love wearing my hair either in a updo or a half up half down hairstyle. Today I didn’t feel like wearing my hair fully up so I opted for this beautiful knotted half up half down hairstyle and I couldn’t be more happier with how it turned out. For something that took me less then five minutes to recreate it looks so amazing!

I love the way the knots look at the back with my hair flowing down. It’s so cute 🙂

{Sorry the photos aren’t the best quality, I had to take these on my ipod since my camera is currently not working}

If any of you are interested in recreating this look yourself here’s the tutorial I used:

I hope you liked this post. If you try this out yourself make sure to send me pictures I would love to see how it turns out. Don’t forget to like and follow if you would like to keep updated on more beauty and fashion related posts. I’ll talk to you all in my next post.

Update On Cashmere Meets Khakis

cashmere meets khakisHello my beautiful readers,

How are you all this lovely day? For today’s post I wanted to update you all on what I have been up to lately.

For a few days now me and my mum have been painting all the wardrobes in our house. Originally we planned to finish this in a day or two but it’s somehow turned into a week long project. It seemed like every time we got started something would come up and we’d have to leave it for the next day. I’m happy to say today we finally got one whole wardrobe done. YAY! now only another two to go.

Besides painting I have been working on some really great stuff for this blog. While I don’t want to share to much right away I can tell you some of the things you can look forward to is a new blog layout/template, a fashion series, more video content of this blog {I’ll talk more about this in a later post} and a new d.i.y section.

I would also love to hear from you any suggestions you have on what you would like for me to write about. Let me know if you would like more reviews, makeup tutorials or look books or I’ve been thinking of doing a post on me decluttering my wardrobe. How I choose what to keep and throw away that sort of thing. Let me know in the comments below if you would like that sort of post. I’ll talk to you all in my next post -Mirjana
