New Year Resolutions?

My Musings, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful start to the year!

With the new year also comes new years resolutions for so many of us. Now while I love the idea of new year resolutions, improving ourselves and doing things we’ve always wanted to try, I also think there not the most proactive. What I mean to say is, when we come up with these new years resolutions at the end of the year, we spend so much time thinking about what our ultimate goal for the year will be and so little time if any on planning the little steps needed to help us reach this goal.

This is probably the number one reason why so many of us fail with our resolutions. We haven’t prepared or planned the most important part.

What I wanted to share with you today is my favorite way of planning those little steps. It’s called monthly habits. I got the idea from a video I watched a couple years ago by Alex Ikonn, I’ll actually link it here so you can watch it. In the video he talks about how at the start of every month he tries to implement one good habit into his life. The habits can be anything, they could be not checking social media after 10 o’clock, waking up at 6am every morning or dedicating 20 minutes to reading every day, the choices are endless.

Now you can choose either to do random different good habits for the year like the ones I just mentioned or you can make them more specific to your goal for the year. To show what I mean I made a little planner/schedule of the year with the habits of that month next to it. For the example I used Learning Photography as the new years resolution..

As you can see every month I’ve added a habit or challenge that will help me learn photography and really better myself at it. You’ll be making this same exact planner/schedule except instead of “learn photography” you’ll add your goal and then make the habits or challenges specific to that.

Just grab a book or a piece of paper, write it all down and then stick it somewhere you know you’ll see it everyday. It’s as easy as that!

The next step is putting in the hard work, patience and time into accomplishing these little steps. Give it all you’ve got and don’t be to hard on yourself if you make a mistake or don’t reach your goal for the day, there is always tomorrow!

I hope this helps you reach your goals. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read this! I love you all and I’ll talk to you next Monday!

Beach Outing OOTD

fashion, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing today! In today’s post I’m going to be sharing with my beach outing OOTD which I filmed a few months ago.

As you can probably see in the video it wasn’t really the best day for the beach. It was really windy for the most part and then when the wind would stop it would be really humid. Besides the weather though, I did have a really fun time being near the ocean, walking in the sand and collecting sea shells to add to the collection I started when I was little.

September Favorites

fashion, Movies & Tv Shows, music, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing today! In today’s post I’m excited to share with you my favorites from the month of September. It was a great month were I discovered so many amazing places, music, tv shows, foods, and films.

I’m so excited to share them with you so let’s just get into it!

Dotti has quickly become one of my favorite stores to shop at. When I first went in the first thing I noticed was just how beautiful all the clothes were. The clothes look so different and unique from clothes you would see in other stores and the materials are always such great quality. I’ve already bought quite a few dresses from them, which I’ll be sharing in a Spring/Summer Lookbook so keep an eye out for that!

If your looking for a healthy treat to snack on through out the day then Bounce bites are perfect for you! I’m always looking for healthy alternatives for snacking and when I was in the organic section in Safeway I came across these delicious gems. They were on sale for half price so I ended up getting one of each flavor. They are all equally delicious but I do have a favorite out of the three and that’s the coconut almond kisses.

Blueberry Banana Bliss- These were probably my least favorite and only because I don’t like overly sweet treats and these for me were just to much. On the other hand my mum loved them, she loved the sweet taste to them. So with these ones I think they would be perfect for anyone who has a big sweet tooth!

Coconut Cacao Delight- I loved the coconut cacao delights. They’re really good to snack on when your not craving anything sweet, since they have a strong cacao taste to them. I would say out of the three flavors these were probably the least sweet out of them all. I should probably add they aren’t bitter either since the coconut really balances them out.

Coconut Almond Kisses- These are hands down my favorite ones from them all. They have this magic taste were they are sweet but not overly sweet were if you eat more then two you feel like total crap. The coconut and almonds just mix so beautifully together and they are just wonderful to eat.

VERA WANG – PRINCESS & Marc Jacobs – Daisy

Since I had run out of the perfumes I was using previously I thought it was the perfect time to switch things up and try out some new perfumes. I ended up buying two, one that’s more fun, feminine and sweet and the other a more sophisticated, classic scent.

For the fun, feminine and sweet one I got Vera Wang’s Princess. I had read such great reviews and after testing it out in the store I decided to purchase it. I’ve already worn it a few times and I absolutely love it.

For the sophisticated and classic one I chose Marc Jacobs’ Daisy. This one really surprised me. From the design of the bottle I thought it would be a really sweet, floral scent but it was more refined and classic. Another great thing about this perfume is that it lasts a long time after you put it on.

A beautiful short film that was inspired by the life and heritage of Antonio Pasin, inventor of the Radio Flyer wagon. I adored it, I just only wish it was longer!

I’ll just say it, I LOVE this show. The actors and actresses in it are phenomenal. I think this show is just the perfect balance between heartfelt and comedic. During those first two episodes they had me both crying and laughing throughout it.

If you ask me with this show it’s hard to put into words how amazing it is the only thing I can do is encourage you to go and watch the first episode. GO WATCH IT NOW!! You’ll not regret it! 🙂

                        MY MUSIC FAVORITES

Meet Skinny Living

music, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all! In today’s post I wanted to share some songs from one of my favorite bands Skinny Living.

I first discovered Skinny Living a year ago from a Shed Sessions episode.

If you don’t know about Shed Sessions, it’s a series that was done on the JacksGap YouTube channel where they brought in talented artists to perform an acoustic performance of one of their songs in Jack and Finn’s shed.

I think I replayed their song Journey close to 100 times that night. They are all so amazingly talented and if you ask me I think Ryan’s voice invented this emoji: 😍😍😍

So without further ado, here are my 5 favorite songs by them. I hope you love them as much as I do!!

Let me know what your favorite song by Skinny Living is in the comments below! Mine is still The Journey. It’s a song I always connect with and remains very special to me.

I’ll talk to you all next week. I hope you all have a marvelous week!!

My New Favorite Tripod

My Musings, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing this beautiful day! In today’s post I wanted to share with you my new favorite tripod.

Before I ended up buying this tripod I had spent about a month searching through different stores for a tripod. It was so difficult to find a good quality, inexpensive one especially when every store I would go to the tripods would be $200+, which was just to out of my budget. I probably never would have found this one either if my dad hadn’t stopped by The Good Guys to buy himself something. As soon as I got to the camera section this tripod just jumped out at me…okay the price probably too along with the tripod! It was on sale at the time to $50 and I think the original price was around $100. After I played around with the display tripod they had it was a no brainer, I knew this was probably the most inexpensive, good quality tripod I was going to find.

The tripod I ended up buying is this one by Sirix Digital. I’ve already used it a few times and it’s honestly been a lifesaver when filming videos. Probably one of the best feelings is not having to turn my house upside down looking for boxes and big books to stack onto a dining room chair to create a “tripod” every time I want to film a video. Plus lugging it from room to room is also a lot more convenient.

Along with the tripod I also received this carry bag with it. The bag is made from a pretty good quality material, I haven’t had any rips or tears yet…hopefully it stays like that!

When you first take out the tripod you’ll see a few handy little features on it. The first one is this carry bar grip on the side. Makes moving the tripod to different spots a whole lot easier.

There’s also this handle on the top which you use to film panning shots with.

It also has two stabilizers on it so you can make sure your camera is always sitting perfectly straight for your shot.

The circle on the side which you turn is to make the part which your camera sits on as loose or tight as you’d like it. If that sounds kind of confusing don’t worry I explain why in the clip after the next one.

This handle on the side, which you pull out when using and pull in when your not, makes the neck of the tripod go higher and lower.

Now remember when I mentioned the circle turning handle that makes were the camera is sitting on tighter and looser…well ta da. This is what it’s for, it tilts to the side so you can take pictures both horizontally and vertically.

There are two sets of heights to the legs which you pull out. You just pull open the handle of either the top or bottom handle and pull out your desired height length.

In the top and bottom photo you can see what it looks like when you pull them out.

Overall I think this is an amazing tripod especially for anyone who has just started dabbling in photography. It’s both practical and inexpensive.

I’ll leave a link for you right here, if you want to check it out: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/sirix-digital-3550-black-lightweight-tripod-max3550

I hope you liked today’s post! Let me know in the comments what is your favorite type of tripod and why? I’d love to hear from you!

Have a marvelous day! I’ll talk to you all on Monday 😀
