Dr. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Skin Lotion Review

skincare, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing today! For today I wanted to do a review of the Dr. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Skin Lotion.

I bought this lotion at my local health food store a couple of weeks ago, and have been using it ever since. I mainly use it on my body and then I just use the Essano moisturizer on my face.

I have looked in a few different places, and the only places I’ve found Dr. Organic products are online and health food stores. You can also check in Priceline, there’s a 50/50 chance that they may stock it as well.

Here’s a link to their website: http://www.drorganic.co.uk

  • It’s completely organic and natural, so your not putting any harsh chemicals on your skin
  • It’s really inexpensive
  • You can use it on your body but also your face as well
  • It’s super moisturizing, I have very dry skin over the winter and this has helped soften up my skin so much
  • It smells so beautiful when you put it on

  • It smells a lot like mandarins, so if you hate the smell of them you should probably stear clear of this lotion
  • The smell doesn’t last long after you put it on maybe a good 10-15 minutes

That’s it! Those are all my pros and cons for this product. Overall I think this is an amazing lotion. I love using it, it has done wonders to my skin and made it feel so soft and velvety smooth. If your on the fence about buying this lotion, then you should go into you local health food store and try out a sample of this to see how you like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I’ll talk to you all on Monday. Have an amazing week 🙂

Meet Skinny Living

music, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all! In today’s post I wanted to share some songs from one of my favorite bands Skinny Living.

I first discovered Skinny Living a year ago from a Shed Sessions episode.

If you don’t know about Shed Sessions, it’s a series that was done on the JacksGap YouTube channel where they brought in talented artists to perform an acoustic performance of one of their songs in Jack and Finn’s shed.

I think I replayed their song Journey close to 100 times that night. They are all so amazingly talented and if you ask me I think Ryan’s voice invented this emoji: 😍😍😍

So without further ado, here are my 5 favorite songs by them. I hope you love them as much as I do!!

Let me know what your favorite song by Skinny Living is in the comments below! Mine is still The Journey. It’s a song I always connect with and remains very special to me.

I’ll talk to you all next week. I hope you all have a marvelous week!!

Journey To A Positive Life One Journal At A Time

books, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

In today’s post I wanted to talk to you about positivity and the 5 Minute Journal. I am a big believer that with a positive mindset you can accomplish anything your heart desires. But let’s be real saying we’re going to be positive and actually being positive are two different things. We all know that gratefulness = a positive mindset, but it can be hard sometimes to remember to just sit still and reflect on everything we’re so blessed to have. That’s were the 5 Minute Journal comes into play!

I first discovered the 5 Minute Journal after watching a video from Alex Ikonn, who also happens to be the creator of this journal along with his good friend Uj Ramdas. It was around the end of 2014, I think, and I had just discovered Alex and Mimi’s channels and I remember just being instantly drawn to their positivity and attitude towards life. It was so refreshing to see two people who were so full of passion and motivation to change the world through their work. One of the videos I watched of theirs happened to mention the 5 Minute Journal and as you can probably guess I was quick to jump online to see where I could purchase the journal for myself.

I first started using the 5 Minute Journal in January 2015 {it was actually my new years resolution} and I haven’t stopped since. What makes it so special for me is it’s a way I can spend 5 minutes every morning and every night to reflect on all the wonderful people, opportunities, things and memories I’m blessed to have in my life. I think it’s really important for all of us to have a way to show our gratitude because only when we are grateful for what we already have can we be ready for even more amazing things to enter our life.

In the picture above, which I got from the Intelligent Change site, is a diagram of everything that’s featured in the journal.

Every morning you fill out the date, list 3 things your grateful for, 3 things you can do to make that day great and add a daily affirmation.

Every night you list 3 amazing things that happened that day and write a few ways you think you could have made the day even better.

It’s as simple as that so you can’t make any excuses about how you don’t have enough time or your too busy.

There are a few different ways you can purchase the 5 Minute Journal, these are just a few!

Option one: Is from the Intelligent Change website. It costs $22.95 minus shipping.

Five Minute Journal

Option two: Is from Amazon.

Option three: Purchasing the 5 Minute Journal app. This is perfect for anyone who prefers having a digital version rather then a physical copy of the journal. Everything on the app is exactly the same as the physical book except for the added feature of being able to add photos to your journal in the app. Which I think is such a cute idea and really adds such a special touch. Plus the app is only $7.99

Option Four: Create your own 5 Minute Journal. Like Alex mentioned in one of his vlogs it’s important to just start. If that means going to Target or Officeworks, buying a $2 dollar notebook and writing out the journal pages into that then by all means do that. What’s most important is your taking action to change your mindset and your life. I personally did this myself when I first started doing the 5 Minute Journal and I’m so glad I did because if I had waited until I could afford to buy it I never would be were I am today.

That’s it for today’s post. I hope I’ve inspired at least one of you to go and check out the 5 Minute Journal, I can guarantee you won’t regret it! I’ll also link down Mimi & Alex’s YouTube channels, they always post such amazing, valuable content which I think you’ll really love!

I hope you all have a magnificent weekend, I’ll talk to you all on Monday!! 🙂 🙂

My Top 5 Summer Getaway Essentials

Beauty, fashion, travel, Uncategorized

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing today? For today’s post I wanted to share with you my top 5 Summer Getaway Essentials!

For those of you who are properly wondering “isn’t it winter in Australia currently!”. Yes, yes it is but I did notice for a large majority of you who read my blog it is currently summer, so that’s why I chose to write this blog post. I wanted to post something that you could find helpful and could relate to. I talked to some of my friends from HomeAway about this summer essential post and together we ended up creating the beautiful graphic I have featured on this post. I absolutely loved the way it turned out!

Let’s get into the post 🙂

                                                                             THE BINGO THEORY

My number one summer essential is a good book. I love either sitting at the beach or under a tree in a park and just reading for hours. My book recommendation for this summer is The Bingo Theory by Mimi Ikonn. The Bingo Theory teaches you how you can balance the masculine and feminine energies within yourself so you can live your life to the fullest. I’ve personally loved learning about this theory, I found it really fascinating and thought provoking.

Sunscreen! Really important for both protecting me from UV rays and keeping me from resembling a lobster in the summer. #palegirlproblems

                                                                                COCONUT OIL

coconut-oilAnother top essential of mine is definitely coconut oil. I adore coconut oil, I use it for so many things. In the summer I love rubbing it onto my body to both moisturize my skin and help me get a bit of a tan. It’s also great for soothing sunburn if you get unlucky and get burnt a little.

                                                                 A CUTE BATHING SUIT

A cute bathing suit is a huge summer essential must for me! When it comes to buying new bathing suits I’m usually very picky. They always have to pass my test questions first..

  1. Am I comfortable in it?
  2. Will I wear it all the time or is this a one time suit only?
  3. Do I feel confident and happy with my body wearing it?

If I answer yes to all three of the questions above then I will purchase it but if I answer no to even one of the questions then I usually pass on it. I’ve found this to be a really good hack to have when buying clothing. This way I only purchase things I truly love and will wear.

                                                                             FRESH FRUIT

And last but not least is having fresh fruit to snack on all day! I LOVE when summer fruits are in season again. From peaches to plums, cherries, apricots, kiwis, grapes, blueberries, cranberry’s, I’m getting hungry just listing all these fruits. 🙂

Those are my top 5 summer getaway essentials. Let me know in the comments below what are YOUR top 5 summer getaway essentials!

I look forward to hearing from all of you and I hope your all having an amazing summer so far!! I’ll talk to you all in my next post 😀

Nature walking featuring Ants + Possums

bush walking pic 1

“In every walk with nature one receives far more then he seeks”

Hello my beautiful readers,

How are you all doing today? After spending the whole week being surrounded by houses and buildings the only place I felt like spending my weekend at was somewhere in nature. I have always loved being surrounded by  nature, I find it’s the perfect place to relax and recharge.

Last weekend me and my family decided to head of to a park not to far from where we live and spend the day there. Usually when we go to this park we take a 5 -10 minute walk, take in the surroundings then head over to find a place to set up camp.

However this time around we decided to switch things up and go on an hour long walk. Which is still pretty short compared to our previous walks {the longest one we did was nearly clocking 3 hours}. I should add now, since it will play into the story later, that when I bush walk or basically do anything active I am usually in flip flops. I know not the most appropriate footwear for those occasions but what can I say I love being as close to barefoot as possible.

So we started our walk, we took in the lovely views of the open fields, inspected vintage machinery {I want to say a part of a grass cutter but I’m not sure}, we took photos, my dad and me went grass picking near a lake {for my cat, he really loves his grass}, and we also tried to take photos with some ducks that happen to be in the lake. The photos didn’t turn out that great since every time we would get near they would go running or should I say swimming 😀

possum 2

{A picture of one of the sweet little possums}

Now we get to the interesting part of the story. As we were nearing the end of our walk my dad spotted in a tree a few steps from the path two possums. They were two of the cutest, smallest, furry little sweethearts with these little heads that were just jjdjfdbhs! They were just so so cute!!

I, like the rest of my family, was to busy staring at them to realize I was standing right next to a ants nest. You can imagine my horror when one of them bite me on my big toe.

It wasn’t the greatest feeling. My toe kept throbbing the whole time and it honestly felt like it was gonna swell up to twice it’s size. Thankfully there was a tap close by. After sticking my toe under the faucet of cold water for 5 minutes it finally started to feel somewhat back to normal. {Aside from the occasional throbbing pain}.

Aside from the ant bite it was still an amazing day! I highly recommend the next time you have free time to go and spend some time in nature 😀

Just remember wear appropriate shoes when nature walking and watch out for ants nests when looking at furry creatures in trees.
